FAQs
About Joe Gray Coach
Q: What’s your background in fitness and coaching?
A: I’ve been a personal trainer for over a year, with Level 3 qualifications, currently working toward my Level 4 Nutritionist certification. My background includes a military career in the Royal Marine Commandos, where discipline, training, and overcoming challenges were a way of life. I now apply those skills to help others achieve their fitness goals.
Q: What makes your training style unique?
A: My training draws from my military experience and knowledge in fitness, nutrition, and recovery. I focus on creating tailored, achievable goals and combining science-backed methods with personalised support, whether you’re looking to build strength, lose weight, or improve overall health.
About Personal Training
Q: How often should I train per week?
A: This depends on your individual goals. Typically, 3-4 sessions per week provide a good balance between recovery and progress for most clients, but it’s all flexible based on your needs, whether you’re working on strength, hypertrophy, or endurance.
Q: Do I need prior experience to start training?
A: My programs are designed for all fitness levels, however, due to the distance and online nature of my work I do need some basic gym skills from clients. Whether you’re a beginner or have been training for years, we’ll create a plan that meets your current ability and pushes you to improve.
About Online Coaching
Q: What does online coaching include?
A: My online coaching covers everything you’d get from in-person training, but with the added flexibility of remote sessions. This includes personalised workout programs, nutrition guidance, recovery tips, weekly Google Meets check-ins, and ongoing support through WhatsApp.
Q: How does online coaching work?
A: After an initial consultation, I’ll design a bespoke program for you, which is accessible via Google Sheets. We’ll have regular check-ins to track your progress, adjust the plan as needed, and I’m available to answer any questions you have in between sessions.
Q: Can I access support outside of sessions?
A: Yes, absolutely! I’m here to support you throughout the week. You can reach out via WhatsApp messaging for guidance on your program, nutrition, or anything fitness-related.
Support & Progress
Q: How do you track progress?
A: We track progress using a combination of metrics, including strength/size gains, photos, and your overall energy levels. Weekly check-ins allow us to adjust your plan as needed to ensure you’re continually improving. I will also keep a note of your very first weights and lifts so after a training block we can compare the figures, a real motivational feeling!
Q: What if I’m struggling with motivation?
A: That’s completely normal and it’s part of the process. I’m here to keep you accountable and offer support when you hit those tough moments. We’ll also revisit your goals and adjust your plan to keep things fresh and motivating. I’ve also got sound advice stemming from years of military experience. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.
Q: What happens if I need to pause or cancel my training?
A: There’s no contract lock-in, so you can pause or cancel at any time. If you need to stop due to medical reasons and provide a doctor’s note, refunds are available. Otherwise, you can resume training whenever you’re ready.
Pricing & Plans
Q: How are your services priced?
A: I offer a range of pricing options based on your training needs. My most exclusive plan is £650 for 6 weeks, designed for those who are fully committed and ready to push themselves to the next level and get next-level support. Other plans start at £230 a month, with all plans offering personalised support and custom training.
Q: Can I try a session before committing?
A: Yes, I offer a free consultation to discuss your goals and give you a taste of what training with me is like.
Health & Safety
Q: Do I need to complete a PAR-Q before training?
A: Yes, all clients are required to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) before starting a training program to ensure your safety and help me design a plan suited to your health. It will be at the end of my client lifestyle questionnaire that I will send you.
Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes, I hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance, ensuring that you’re fully covered during all training sessions. Please email me if you would like to see a copy of my insurance documents.
